Written by Erin Darling
Hey everyone!
If you're a wine drinker, foodie, or just a Southern California local looking for a fun activity, come to the Calabasas/Malibu Food and Wine Festival on June 19th! I'll be in attendance with CelebrityWineReview.TV as a host and as their social media expert, sending tweets, pictures and videos to show you what we're doing. If you can't make it out to this event, be sure to follow me @CelebWine on June 19th!
Not only am I excited for the food and wine at this event, but the proceeds also go to the Alzheimer's Association and the LA County Sheriff Department, so it supports two great causes! Is there a better reason to come down and check it out?
Below is a video of me interviewing Alam Semsar, as he explains a little more about the event!
xoxo,
Erin

Judging Miss Teenage California 2010
Written by Erin Darling
Hi friends, fans and family,
This weekend (as announced on my Twitter) I've been serving as a judge for the Miss Teenage California pageant. This is my second time judging this pageant, and it's such a honor to be asked back. I truely admire these girls for putting themselves out there to be judged! It's not easy, I remember what it was like to on that very same stage. My knees were literally shaking under my dress! I remember standing in front of the judges, blinded by bright lights, not being able to see anyone in the dark crowd. It was a bit scary for me, as a 17-year-old.
I have so much respect for these young ladies competing this year, and I have been blown away by their confidence, beauty and bravery! Judging Miss Teenage California has been a great experience for me because I'm reminded where I came from and how far I've come since winning the same pageant in 2004. I remember how much fun I had, and how elated and surprised I was when I was crowned. Now, as I prepare for the final night of competition, I realize that in just a few hours, a new young woman will experience these same emotions and embark on a journey as a titleholder and role model with $10,000 dollars in scholarship money! I could not be more excited to be a part of this!
If any parents or contestants read this blog, I just want you to know that all of the contestants I saw on stage were lovely. And although only one girl will walk away with the title of Miss Teenage California tonight, I hope all the contestants walk away with a higher sense of confidence because having a winning attitude is always more important than winning a crown. Don't give up on your dreams, girls!
Good luck ladies!
xoxo,
Erin
